Bang’a and Kasemeni are two communities in Kwale County, Southeast Kenya. Kwale is one of the poorest provinces in Kenya and both villages face a large number of problems.
Bang’a
Bang’a is located in the Kinango region. Due to limited availability of water, the area is arid and dry. This has major consequences for livestock farming and agriculture. There is a lot of poverty and poor health care.
Kasemeni
Kasemeni is located in the Lunga Lunga region, about 100 km inland, near the border with Tanzania. Good facilities are even less available here than in Bang’a. Communication with the outside world is difficult because there is almost no access to the internet.
